Father’s Day is fast approaching. Let’s assume you’ve been super-duper organised this year and have already purchased the perfect personalised Father’s Day Gift for Dad. Now it’s time for the part a lot of us absolutely hate – wrapping the gift so it’s ready to give to Dad.
No one would ever want to receive a gift that’s been wrapped by me. Seriously. My 2-year-old son could probably do a better job of wrapping gifts for my friends and family. If, like me, you can never seem to get your wrapping right, we’ve got just the thing for you: a simple, step-by-step guide for wrapping your Father’s Day Gift.
Better still, we’ve got a short video for each step! Needless to say, I don’t feature in this video. My gift-wrapping prowess unfortunately didn’t make the grade. Follow our seven simple steps for gift-wrapping success:
STEP 1: Pick the Perfect Wrapping Paper
We’ve chosen a trendy moustache design, printed for us by our parent company Harrier, but you can go with whatever you think Dad will love. Maybe his favourite colour? Or, something funny if he’s a bit of a joker?
STEP 2: Make Sure Your Gift is Securely Packaged
Especially if you’ve purchased Dad a Personalised Mug or something similarly fragile, ensure it is adequately boxed to prevent any breakages. We’ve chosen to add some decorative confetti, too.
STEP 3: Lay the Box Onto Gift Wrap
Lay your box (or just the gift itself) face down on top of the wrapping paper. Pull the paper tight over one side, hold, then pull the other side tightly over. Make sure the wrapping paper overlaps each fold, then use some sticky tape to hold the paper in place.
STEP 4: Tuck the Corners Down
Press in with both thumbs to tuck the corners down and swiftly press down on the triangle folds to create a crease. Fold one flap down first, and lay the other flap over it. Add some sticky tape to keep it in place.
STEP 5: Rinse and Repeat
If you’re wrapping a boxed gift, now that the first end of the gift has been wrapped, you can lay your box upright to make tucking in the final corners even easier. Do the same as Step 4: tuck in the paper corners, fold the flaps and add your sticky tape.
STEP 6: Tie With Twine or String
First, place your string underneath the box, leaving an equal amount of string either side. Pull down tight. Wrap the remainder of your string around the rest of the box, flipping the box itself as you do so. Pull tight and form a bow, as if you were tying a shoelace.
STEP 7: Add a Gift Tag
Write Dad’s name on a gift tag of your choice, place onto the present itself and secure firmly with some sticky tape.
Aaaaaand that’s a wrap! Give yourself a Dad-style pat on the back – you did it! You’ve wrapped your Father’s Day Gift like a boss. Now your gift is ready to give to Dad on Father’s Day.
